Episode 116

Banter's Back

After what felt like an eternity of unfathomable trials and tribulations, The Critical Banter Podcast has returned from injury and has been put straight back into the starting line-up.

However, like all other world-class talents, they have been rushed back to action despite not being fully fit, with Sen still out nursing a dislocated router.

Nevertheless, with two whole weeks of content to cram into a single episode, the boys struggle to contain their excitement as they passionately recount their action-packed adventures of walking around their neighbourhood and shopping for salmon.

In typical Critical Banter fashion, Kush's story concludes with accusations of heinous acts involving minors as well as Rohit unable to get through a episode without displaying his deep-rooted and very concerning sociopathic tendencies.

Moving on from these tales for the ages, "News or Not" makes a miraculous return from the segment graveyard. This week's real and/or fake news headlines revolve around current cultural and societal zeitgeists - including anti-vaxxers, the Taliban and Harry Styles.

The boys further their struggles to create content (again, despite a whole two weeks off) by stealing r/AskReddit's most popular questions and answering them themselves on "Answer Reddit".

The questions get progressively dumber as the segment goes on, starting with a philosophical insight into the boys' quarter life crises and ending with quite literally the least funniest jokes you will ever hear.

Also this week: Caucasian families, pet food, grandpa's ashes and Vladimir Putin.

Segments this week:

The Logue: Tired of reaching around each other (at least on the podcast), the boys have instead decided to reach around the week’s news stories, events and viral trends.

News or Not: With fake news as rampant as ever, the boys delve into some headlines and determine what is real and what is not the news.

Answer Reddit: Content creation is simple when you read questions off r/AskReddit and provide your own answers!

Critical Banter

Established by 4 high-school friends in 2018, Critical Banter was formed through a shared love of comedy, entertainment and gaming. The launch of the podcast in 2019 was, at first, to validate their humour beyond their family and friends.

Now, The Critical Banter Podcast is a fast-growing comedy podcast that emulates the feel of late-night shows and engages heavily with their listeners to create relatable content - including story-telling, games and Q&As.
